We’ve always wanted to try our hand at renovating a classic San Francisco Victorian home, but adding modern touches on the way. When the owner of this home approached us, he challenged YAMAMAR to come up with a unique aesthetic that would allow both modern and traditional sensibilities to co- exist in harmony. Black steel windows add a new geometric frame at the rear house. We added a living wall at the rear yard to bring an organic texture into the living space. The back yard was raised to be level with the main floor to create indoor outdoor flow. A heavy crown molding runs from the entry hall into the new kitchen and tugs at the new open plan space at the rear of the house.
